Table Talk

Eating dinner as a family and my 9 year old son pipes up with this one:

HIM: Oh yeah, my friend told me today that he saw two people at the park 'making out'.

audible gulp - (I'm pretty sure it came from me)

The conversation that followed was quick and filled with a lot of snickering (most of which came from my 12 year old son - you know the kind that goes on nervously and TOO long).

By now my 7 year old daughter has repeated the phrase 'making out' more times than I'm comfy with and I'm singing the 'la-la-la-la' song only I can't get it to come out of my mouth, and they ALL keep talking about 'making out' in the park - I need to make this STOP. I know, I'll change the subject - think of something MORE interesting than M.O. (I just can't type it again).

So I blurt out to my 12 year old boy 'So how's sewing class going?' Another round of giggles this time, my dh and everyone is hurting from all the laughter. Oh and YES, my ds does have sewing in middle school this year (not by his choice, but still).

As if on cue, my 18 year old walks in from work and looks at us all like we've grown two heads. Hmmm, I get that a lot lately. I explain that he's missed a very interesting conversation and try to leave it at that.

My oldest feigns disinterest (again this happens a lot ) by making some typical 'I don't care' type of comment to his brother. To which the 9 year old pipes up with, Oh you're just jealous because two people were making out in the park and YOU want to try it.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG
